Skew Siskin’s slot at The Planet Arthur Radio Show (RTL, Paris, 21st June) went fantastically, King Arthur was more than impressed by the fire of Nina C. Alice and the band. He asked Nina live on air to marry him, take lots of Viagra and make lotsa babies. You can only bet what Nina's answer was. She replied, "You’ve got to stand in line as there are many other men who want the same from me!" The whole staff and crew on the roof of the RTL building went berserk and laughed out loudly. And they were all ears to Skew Siskin playing their music on air. BTW: More than half a million people listen to The Planet Arthur Radio Show.

The crowd’s wild anticipation at the French festival 'Decibulles' (26th June) was a result of the Paris radio show, as 10000 kids went crazy for the band and music. They joined in with every song and did everything Nina commanded. The action in the mosh-pit already started at The Who's "My Generation" intro, which is played for Skew Siskin’s entrance on stage.

Skew Siskin played another successful show at Europe’s biggest festival Donauinselfest (27th June), held at Vienna, Austria. They performed in front of a very mixed audience consisting of the likes of Gothics, Punks, Arabs and other people from various cultural backgrounds and influences. The crowd sang along with Nina like they don’t do anything else, even though it was only Skew Siskin’s second show in Austria.

Unfortunately, someone stole Nina’s customised denim jacket (costing 400 Euros) at the Planet Music stage in Vienna. It's blotchy brown in colour; has black fake fur on the collar; a badge with "666" on it; patches on the sleeves with "I am a fucking genius", a black "8" ball (table pool) and "More Human Than Human"; some black leather stripes on the front; and a small silver chain hanging from a front pocket button-hole. Nina wants it back badly, as it has personal value. If anyone knows its whereabouts, or sees someone wearing it, please get it back and send it to:

SKEW SISKIN
c/o ULFTONE MUSIC
Linienstrasse 148

10115 Berlin
Germany

You'll be rewarded handsomely from Skew Siskin: a backstage pass for two shows, time spent with Nina for two hours (dinner, Q's & A's, photos etc), get a free CD, be a VIP for the whole day, watch the show from the side of the stage and, of course, get your money back for sending the jacket to Ulftone Music!

Lemmy Kilmister,

of Motörhead, was spending more time in the  Monongo Studio in Berlin last week again , to record some more tracks for his solo project. Jim Voxx is producing / recording and mixing two of the songs for Lemmy, and talk is, he might mixes the whole CD.

A full hornsection was recorded, a sax player, a blues piano player and a lot more. Jim's wall of sound is huge and creates a whole new picture around Lemmy's voice. "Jim will have to turn a few buttons, to manage 54 tracks" says Nina, "but he'll do great. Just like he did on our current CD 'Album Of The Year'."

Skew Siskin and Lemmy had another great time together, recording,  watching the soccergame  Germany/Holland and "The Kids Are Alright" of THE WHO, visiting Check Point Charly,  joking and laughing, singing and talking ...aaaaaaaaand no, they won't tour together in the near future...( but you never know...harr harr)!

A message from Skew Siskin:

"The recent tour was awesome!  We have a lot of true fans out there in France, Belgium and Switzerland!!!  They really rock and we hope to go back there as soon as possible. There are more shows in the works for Spain, Holland, Belgium and France.  As soon as they're confirmed, you will find them listed in the Tour section. Keep checking back!  Thank you all for meeting us at the shows and for being a great audience."

Shortly before the tour hit off, Nina and Jim met their old friend Udo Lindenberg.  Nina says, "Udo hooked Jim and me up years ago, that's how Skew Siskin got started.  Back then, Udo and I sang a pretty song together called 'You Are My Lucky Star' for Udo's album 'Hermine'."

After returning from the tour, Skew Siskin were sitting at home (they all live together in the same house) and unexpectedly the doorbell rang.  To their surprise, it was Wolf Hoffmann, former axeman of the well-known act ACCEPT.  "We jammed together all day, even playing classic Accept songs, and we had a great time."

2.

Nina C. Alice met labelmate Jean Beauvoir at Skew Siskin's Berlin-based Monongo Studio, where he was shooting some scenes for his upcoming promo video "I Wanna Know".

Nina says, "It's great to meet up with musicians who played with singers often compared to me.  His legendary band PLASMATICS was definitely an act which had an affect on me, and it's a compliment when people say that I remind them of Wendy O. Williams.  She was an incredible showgirl.

"Jean is a superb musician who also wrote a song for the movie 'School Of Rock', and I was impressed that he was still in good shape after 16 hours video shooting in our studio."

14. April 2004

A personal message from Nina:

Thanks to all people who've wished me a quick recovery !!

I am SO glad to see that  you all have wished me only the best. There was a virus in my lungs and it was only a question of time until my voice cracked. On top of it I had a really bad cold. I really had to take serious care of my voice immediately!!

But still, as you can imagine, it wasn't very easy to decide to cancel the tour !!

But: no voice, no show, no fun..! So therefore I had to land in my bed for 12 days... it goes without saying that it often was a little boring .. and painful to cough. But, I did get some distractions! I've read a book about Amsterdam and some novel and saw some really good movies! One of the movies I loved was: "Mr's Doubtfire" with the incredible R. Williams and a brilliant documentary about  real horsewhisperers, ghee, they impress me! I want to talk to horses too.

What really disgusted me was to drink all this healthy tea all day. Ugh.

Glad I am back in the saddle again! Heehaw!

Anyway, enough from the edge of my mind:

I am about to get in shape again now, and I am looking forward to roll the rock in three weeks. So are the guys in my band!!!

See you in May!

..Girl on a mission..yours,

Nina C. Alice

Some LIVE fotos of the New Generation Of Rock Tour will be uploaded soon..stay tuned

7. April 2004

The Donauinselfest in Vienna on the 27.06.2004 has been confirmed today.

3. April 2004

As many of you know by now:  Yes, it's true! Unfortunately Skew Siskin had to cancel the last three shows of their tour.

Nina collapsed after the show in Vienna and was rushed to a hospital. She has been told to stay in bed for at least one week to give her body the needed rest and fully recover her vocal cords before further damage is done. She sung the Vienna show with terrible pain in her voice and coughed a lot in between sentences, but refused to stop the show.

We wish her all the best and a speedy recovery.

The Show for Uster / Switzerland will now be on the 11. 05. 2004 and the show for Sannois / F will hopefully happen in September 2004. The booking Agency is currently working it out.

Skew Siskin is also confirmed and about to be confirmed for three festivals this year and 2005.

There's been a lot of press recently:

Look out for reviews in UK magazines: "Rock Sound", "Classic Rock", "Black Velvet" and "Metal Hammer". And there will be more to follow.

Interviews in Spanish magazines: "Metal Masquerade", "Metal Hammer", "Bikerzone", "Rock Hard", "Kerrang" and "Lord Metal".

Interviews in Italian magazines: "Metal Hammer", "Psycho" and "Rock Hard".

In this month's issue of the German "Rock Hard Magazine" you find an interview with Nina.

A review in a Berlin-based online magazine called "Aviva". An interview will follow very soon.

And, last but not least, an online interview with a French magazine.

Expect a lot of the print-press to be released during the next, two or three months.

Jean Chermanne, a journalist from the radio station "Radio Panik" in Belgium, had a phone interview with Nina and even started helping the band to set up a show in Belgium at "Spirit Of 66". (Dates will be announced soon). A big thank you Jean!

Skew Siskin says: "We hope to play everywhere possible throughout the year. Now that the album is out in the UK too, we're looking for slots there as well.

"It's great to see that Skew Siskin have a huge number of fans all over Europe, even in countries which we never visited as a band! And of course we can't wait to play in all those countries. The upcoming headlining tour is only the beginning of a longer trip into unknown territories. It's super cool that countries where we've never played live, already react so positively. They reflect our music so well and understand where our music comes from, as if we've been performing at their clubs and halls twice a year. But we're also very much looking forward to playing at our homeland Germany. It'll be a great pleasure to be able to do a long set (around 110 min) included enchores.  Overall, a set that's 200% Skew Siskin.

We'll deliver a raw and furious energetic show every night, we expect old and new fans, and we're gonna put our typical magical and hypnotising Skew Siskin flavour down on you. To play smaller venues will only bring us closer to you headbangers, freaks and die-hard fans! Be afraid, we might catch a look into your eyes and watch you too!"

Nina will present herself with lotsa new outfits - back in her cowboy chaps & hat, long wild hair and, of course, never without her Satanic smile. "I've got ants in my pants already and I am so much in love with what I'm doing, thanks to the band and the great team we have together now. Singing has never felt so good! We sound tight, fit like sneekers, explode like a rocket, yet we're relaxed and slick. Come hell or high water, we deliver monster rock riffs with an outburst and a wall of sound. Shake off the dust of those booties, we're gonna be in your city with the new generation of rock!"

A second leg of the tour is to follow in May 2004. Dates will be posted in a very short while.

20. February 2004

Skew Siskin will play a show at the world famous "Le 24 Houres du Mans" at Le Mans, France, on 3rd April 2004. At the moment the running order is not set, but amongst the other bands playing is Canned Heat. Click here for more information about the event. Keep checking this News section for when Skew Siskin are scheduled to be onstage.

The single "The Goddess" will first be available as a promotional item until the upcoming tour, when it's on public release.

Skew Siskin will not play at this year's "Bang Your Head" festival. Nina C. Alice & Hans Klok

Recently the band were invited to attend a show of Hans Klok

Europe's most famous illusionist. Nina C. Alice later met the Dutch magician backstage for a chat.

She asked him how he makes people vanish... as we all know Nina shellshocks people into disappearing when she kicks their asses....but maybe Hans will help her to be more subtle in the future, or makes her materialise through a ring of fire...who knows ;o).

She then gave him the latest Skew Siskin album which he was eager to hear. He's most likely a true rock fan, since he plays a Rob Zombie song throughout one of his tricks.

Nina was very impressed by his show and felt like Alice In Wonderland after all. "He makes a helicopter appear on stage during Shirley Bassey's James Bond theme song, and it made me feel like a kid again, it was truly inspiring!"
