C. Alice (Skew Siskin) No I don’t. Violence is violence. It's the human being that has to choose to NOT be violent! I see a connection of people freaking out, because they are obsessed with stupid thoughts and decide to be violent. That way, they don’t need to face their own truth! That easy. Why are they full of madness? I have NO answer. They know. Drugs, money, power and weapons are the tools to create real problems. Music itself? At the end, it’s at least a tool to shake agression off of you! But if someone decides to kill someone else, it has nothing to do with music. Point. It has to do with the world people live in, the problems people have in their lives. It is too cheap to search for reasons in the heavyness or loudness of any kind of music! Because that would mean, everyone who listens to heavy metal, is a potential murder...(?!) I must say, if I have to listen to the normal day-to-day radio programm I become mad and agressive, because of all the sugar and honey lies they put across our ears! Lies and fake music make me unhappy and feel uncomfy. I need loud, heavy, raw, real and honest music, to feel normal. I believe a lot of people do too! Violence is NOT music. Music can SOUND violent, but it doesn’t kill. It's a cheap excuse, to judge something to make the conservatives look clean. But don’t we all have learned in the past, that even in "god’s institutions" named: church, have been cases of sex abuse, violence!?! Would that mean, the church makes you a violent person, a molester? Or people who pray, automatically now become a person that molests underage people? You find malevolence in a lot of places and institutions. It's too easy to blame heavy metal music in general. They don't need to look for the real problem that way, shut their eyes and pretend it's the heavy metal people. We, the musicians, who play hard music, don't intend to kill someone, or expect to die onstage! We create and produce art / music to make a living and entertain people, to put a mirror in front of their faces, to play with feelings, to even get away from our own problems, or we write songs to deal with our lives on a different level. We put our visions into words and play around with emotions. Music is a money making machine, a business, a market, a forum to express your mind. Music can't kill. It’s a tool. We feel sorry for everyone involved in the tragedy. I am sorry especially for Vinnie who saw his brother killed before his eyes. Article prepared and organized by
